The Portsmouth area of Hampshire (mostly Farlington Marshes) was my local patch from the age of eleven until a career opportunity took me over the border into West Sussex thirteen years later. A combination of Worthing Seafront, Pagham Harbour and Pulborough Brooks became my new haunts. The Hampshire 'ringing years' were replaced by the Sussex 'seawatch years'; I'm still not sure if this was a fair swap!!

Early attempts at photography (b&w, slides, mirror lenses etc) were pretty hopeless. Later digiscoping also proved to be 'too much of a faff'. More recently digital imaging using DSLR technlogy has taken over with marginally more success (or possibly less if you think my images are rubbish!!).

So this site will be regularly updated with birds and maybe other fauna and flora as 2009 progresses.
